Remington Model Of 1917 Serial Numbers

He was just getting rid of it for someone else. I gave it a good going over and took it to the range.

It's a great shooter. It has been well mantained. The action is very tight and smooth. I hope to take it on a Buffalo hunt in South Dakota soon. I have tried to find information about its origins on the net without any luck, I thought it might have been a model 725 Kodiak from the 60's but the numbers range did not match. Or maybe a 700(???).

Lucky The Racer Full Movie In Hindi Dubbed Download Kickass. At this point I am stumped. I know that Remington took some leftover Enfield type actions and made some sporting and custom rifles out of them, but I have not been able to locate any information to confirm this as one of them.

I am hoping some of you may be able to help identify its origins;when and where it was made, and what model applies to it. The rifle sports a nice walnut Monte Carlo stock with checkering and an understated cheekpiece. It has a ventilated butt pad with a white and black spacer. When I removed the barrel and action you can see that the stock had been reworked and fitted for the larger caliber barrel and enlarged for bigger ammo in the mag box area. The action is a Eddystone Enfield type.

It does not have the rabbit ear sights found in military models. The top is smooth and is tapped for scope with two mounting holes in front of the ejection area and another two holes behind it. It is a blued long action, maybe BDL. The floor plate is detachable, not hinged. On the front top portion of the receiver the following is stamped 'Model Of 1917', Below that '679790', and below that 'REMINGTON' The 24' barrel is also blued, smooth, round and tapered with.375 stamped on the left side near the base.

No front sights, or other markings are found anywhere on the barrel. On the left side of the receiver where the bolt release mechanism is there is a stamp that resembles an upside down '[Lilly flower]' like mark, some of which are` accompanied by numbers.

This stamp is also found in several other areas of the action: Behind the safety (Top '[Lilly]', Bottom 'R'), on the bottom of the receiver in front of the mag area [Lilly] 353, plus nail like indentations, one of which resembles a canted V and the other crossed resembling an X. The bolt is 'cock on opening' and also sports similar markings. It has a round ball, swept back handle with an 'R' marking underneath.

There is a round recess on the back side at the base of the bolt handle that has a squared 'U' stamped inside and the '[Lilly]' flower like stamped mark with the numbers 251. It also has the letters 'E N' stamped on the side of the locking grooves on the rear of the bolt. I hope some of you may be able to help. Sims 3 Store More Holiday Presents. 'Just picked up a Remington 1917 Ser# 6200xx and Remington barrel dated 10-18. Almost all R stamped parts. The gun is all parkerized and has been arsenal refinished and under the wood is a lot of cosmoline. The stock is stamped in the front with a L and a small circle to the right of the L. Anyone tell me about the stock. Thanks Griff ' These were WWI contract rifles that became the first model 30s when Remington kept making them for the post-war consumer market.

The bolt handle and rear receiver look the 1917/30 style. The 30 express was replaced by the 720 after WWII. Then came the 725 I believe. Many custom rifles were made from Enfield and Springfield '03s and 03A3s in the 50s when surplus rifles were sold to NRA members by the DCM (now CMP). I have two rifles purchased by my father in that period for as little as $15.

Answer Do you have the correct model #? I am not aware of any Remington.22 rifle with a 672 designation.

Unless there is a very late model from Remington with th at model number, I believe you are referring to their model 572 rifle. The M/572 was a PUMP repeater that was initially produced in the 1950's, in various grades and is, or was until the last year or two, still being manufactured. Serial numbers were not required on.22 rifles up until December of 1968, when the infamous 'Gun Control Act of 1968' was passed. If you do indeed actually have a model 572 PUMP rifle, and you can not find the serial number, you most likely have a unit manufactured prior to 12/68, since all M/572 rifles with serial numbers have them very plainly stamped on the side of the receiver.
