Rogers is getting absolutely ridiculous with their in-show ads, to the point, they're taking up almost half the screen and in this case, cutting of most of the characters. And this needs to stop, I know this example is from last year but I've seen stuff like this all the time on City tv, and Bell is guilty of doing this in-show ads.

Edit: just to clarify, I don't pay for cable, I have an HD antenna to watch stuff over-the-air, and most of the time, when I watch TV, it's on streaming sites like watchseries, but those sites record shows, cut the commercials and the post them online, • • • • •. TV absolutely blows my mind these days. We cut the cord a decade ago, but when we're at a hotel we'll flip through the channels just to see what it's like. A few weeks ago, after a long day driving and a big dinner we plopped ourselves on the couch in our room and tried watching The Mummy. Five minutes of action, then commercials, repeat every 5 minutes, and the same goddamn commercials over and over and over. How do people put up with it?

After an hour of yelling at the TV we shut it off, went for a walk and had a much better time. Most TV advertising is about brand awareness; so it's not really about making you want to buy a product but more about knowing their product exists. A good example of this would be paper towel. Seeing a Bounty commercial for instance doesn't make you want to go out and buy paper towel. But, at some point you are going to need to buy paper towel and the stuff they tell you in their commercials is often enough to get people to choose their 'better' paper towel vs the cheaper no-name brand when you are in that paper-towel aisle.
