Broadcom Wifi Driver Windows 7 Lenovo
Hello, I have an Aspire E1-571G with Windows 8.1x64 (clean install, no upgrade and so on) and I've been having issues with my broadcom wireless drivers ever since I installed it. Robust Programming Design. The troubleshooter showed up that there is a problem with the default gateway but here's what really happens: I can stay connected to a wireless network but after random periods of time I just lose internet access (note that it doesn't show up in the connections page, everything looks perfectly fine there) and I have to reconnect to the wifi to regain it. I have tried on multiple wifi network and it does the same thing.
It works fine if I use an ethernet cable but that just makes it more frustrating. I have tried all the possible solutions I could find online like checking the power management settings, reinstalling the wifi card in safe mode, checking the priority of the wirelss connection, virtually anything. There is no hardware issue with it, it worked perfectly fine on Windows 7. I haven't been able to find wireless drivers for 8.1 and even though I have the latest drivers, it still doesn't work right. There are moments when I can keep my connection for more than 2-3 hours but there are times when it crashes every 5 minutes or so. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this instead of waiting for the drivers to be updated?
I've seen that I'm not the only one with this issue and it's a bit common for e1-571g users. For example lenovo users had the same problem and the only fix was to install the default windows drivers but that doesn't work for me. Hello to you! I just wanted to tell you that your symptoms and troubles are exactly the same as mine. While I have found some extended ethernet connection by using FIXED DNS Server Addresses (Google Public Adresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), I still have the disconnection/dropped signal at least 6 to 8 times in the day. So I know it's not a complete remedy by you may want to give that a try and see if it maintains a connection for a bit longer.
I have posted information about Broadcom's announcement to get a new driver released and can only hope that it means a complete remedy to the problem with 8.1 drivers. So we shall see! What a frustration I and many others went through to fix this issue which is lost Wifi when going from Windows 8 to 8.1.

Forget the driver Acer wants you to use. Instead install from the Acer website an older driver 6.30.59.20 for Windows 8 and 8.1 but for 64 bit. It says its for 64 bit rate, but it fixed my 32 bit Aspire E1-571 laptop when I went from Windows 8 to 8.1. The Acer recommended driver for my 32 bit laptop does not work with Windows 8.1, at best it has very limited connectivity. It worked fine on Windows 8. Some guy/gal figured this fix out and posted it on another chat blog which I can't remember the name any more. With this older driver, WiFi for both Windows 8 and 8.1 works fine.
In the device manager the manufacturer is shown as Broadcom. The machine is a Sony Vaio Duo 13, which has appalling wifi reception, rendering it virtually useless as a tablet There are 23 pages of complaints on the Sony Community site and no input from any Sony representative. Emailing Sony support produces nothing but bland marketing speak in reply. Given how many contributors to the site are saying that they will never buy a Sony product again, you'd think Sony might at least issue an apology to limit the reputational damage their brand is suffering, but they seem not to be bothered in the slightest. I paid a small fortune for the machine, which, admittedly, is a dream to use, and so am somewhat p'd off about having to buy a USB wifi adapter to be able to use the damned thing. I noticed that several contributors here have found they have had problems after moving to Win 8 with a wireless card which worked well under Win 7 and there have been some suggestions that reverting to Win 7 drivers may solve the problem.
Mind you, my hunt for Win 7 drivers is predicated on the assumption that the particular card was available at the time of WIn 7. I can find lots of drivers for a Broadcom card released by HP, Lenovo, Acer et al, but none with that specific ID, so assumed that the best place to look would be on my Win7 machine or on the WIn7 DVD, but have no clue where to look.
Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. I can understand how frustrated you are and will assist you to the best of my abilities. Many components are involved when you connect to a network: network adapters, drivers, and routers. Some of the common reasons for this issue are: Incorrect WEP, WPA, or WPA2 security keys or passphrases. Mismatched wireless standards.
Missing updates. Incorrect network connection settings. Damaged or incompatible drivers.
Since we know that the network adapter or its drivers are at fault, let us try these troubleshooting steps: Method 1: Please refer to the following link to run the Network Adapter Troubleshooter: How do I fix network adapter problems? If you receive any error message after running the troubleshooter, then please let us know.
Method 2: Let us make sure that the computer doesn’t turn the network adapter off to save power. Press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc in the Run Dialog. In the Device Manager window, expand Network Adapters. Whitesnake Looking For Love Download Mp3. Right-click on the device and click on Properties. Click on the Power Management tab and uncheck the option: Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Click on OK to save the settings. Hi, Thanks for the update. I am unable to find the drivers for the tablet in Sony’s website.
So instead of that, here’s what you can try: a. Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager. Expand Network Adapters and right-click on the device. Click on Update Driver Software and select Browse my computer for driver software. Click on Let Me Pick from the List of Device Drivers on My Computer.
Select the device listed and click on Next to install the drivers. Click on Close after Windows has successfully installed the drivers. Restart the computer and check if the device is working properly. Thank you, Manasa. I have a Windows 8 Pro machine with a Broadcom wireless card. Wifi reception is poor.
It has been suggested by several contributors to these forums that using Windows 7 wireless card drivers may well offer an improvement. I assume that I'm not going to find Windows 7 drivers anywhere on my Window 8 machine. If that assumption is correct, then browsing my computer for driver software will be rather pointless. That's why my question is 'Where can I find a Windows 7 Broadcom wireless adapter driver?' As I've pointed out above, 'I do have a Windows 7 machine sitting at the side of me and a WIn7 installation DVD', so I'd like to know some way of finding an appropriate driver on either of those sources.
Sony Duo 13: It seems there is a solution if you update to Win 8.1. The first thing to do is to flash the BIOS with the new firmware, otherwise the Win 8.1 upgrade will fail.
I then installed the driver from here: which appears to be for Win 8.1. I installed it even though the site states it's for a different model than mine. Wifi continued to work, but was no better than before.
But then a very kind person on the Sony Community board pointed out that that driver is version 5.93.97.187 and what works is 5.93.98.187 so I asked Device Manager to update the driver. It duly updated it to 5.93.98.187. I took the computer downstairs, where the wifi connection normally fell to two bars and found that I now have 4. So: problem solved, I guess.
